The sea envelopes me.
As if it were mine alone.
It cradles and caresses me.
In its depths I feel at home.
Enriched by the chill of the water.
My weightless limbs attest.
To the power of an ocean in swell.
The heart that beats inside my chest
Carried along by the current.
I abandon the need to control.
The direction my life has been taking.
Or the endeavours of my weary soul.
As the sun sparkles upon its surface.
And white horses run onto the shore.
I awake from the dream of tomorrow.
Face today with hope of once more.

Some explanation
An ode to the replenishing power of the sea we have around us and a reminder to make time to take a dip more often. Enhancing our connection to the natural world and restoring balance to our soul.
The two are more connected than our world gives credit.
We must change that 🙏
