Here we are, back to Monday, which means we’ve made it through another week of posts, stories, ideas, and experiments. Monday Monolog has become the place where I pause and sound off about whatever’s running through my head, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this journey I’m on and how much I’m learning along the way. Almost every day brings something new. Last week I figured out a few things I can do with my website, learned more about what YouTube expects from a full video versus a Short, and got better at resizing and formatting images so I can use them across different platforms. And of course, I’m continually learning how to work with AI — which has been its own interesting adventure.
Sometimes I tell AI, “Write me a post about this,” and it spits something out. I read it, make a few changes, and every now and then, while I’m reading, something completely different pops into my head. I realize, That’s not quite what I want to say… THIS is what I want to say. And suddenly I’m off in a new direction. That’s one of the biggest things I’m learning: I don’t need AI to think for me. I need it to help me pull the thoughts out of my head and shape them into something I can work with. When you take the time to build a good working relationship with AI — give it the right information, the right direction — it can remember what matters and help keep everything moving the way you want it to go. For me, it’s becoming a finishing tool, something that helps organize all those bouncing thoughts and turn them into something cohesive.
The funny thing is, this whole system I’m building is actually getting pretty simple. My website is becoming the hub. You scroll down, find something you want to know more about, and there’s a link. Want to see more stars? There’s a gallery. Want the story behind something? Maybe there’s a link to a Buy Me a Coffee post. Want to follow another part of the journey? There’s another page waiting. I’m still building it, still changing it, and honestly, I’ll probably change it again next week — but that’s part of the fun. I’m learning how to make all these pieces — the stars, the stories, the website, BMC, YouTube, social media, photos, videos — fit together instead of scattering everything everywhere.
And that’s really what this journey is becoming. It’s not just about making wooden stars. It’s about making, learning, experimenting, telling stories, and figuring out how these stars can do some good along the way. Maybe they can help someone through a difficult part of their journey. Maybe they can honor someone’s story. And maybe, somewhere along the way, they can help me with mine, too.
So that’s where my head is this Monday morning. I’m still figuring it out. I’m still learning. And I’m still building. If you want to come along for the ride, the website is the hub, the stars are the thread running through it all, and the journey is just getting started.
