The Japan Swimming Federation has formed the 12-member team for the management event at the 2024 Doha World Aquatics Championships.
It's half the usual level.
Kyodo News reported on the 7th, "The Japan Swimming Federation has announced the final entries for the management event for the World Championships to be held in Doha in February next year."
Daiya Seto (29) in the men's individual medley, Tomoru Honda (21) in the butterfly stroke, and Katsuhiro Matsuhiro (26) in the freestyle were included in the final entries.
However, Ryosuke Irie (33) in the men's backstroke, Yui Ohashi (28) in the women's individual medley, and Rikako Ikee (23) in the butterfly and freestyle will not participate in the Doha World Championships in order to focus on the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Only three Japanese female athletes will participate in the Doha World Championships, and Japan will not be able to participate in the women's relay event.
The Japan Swimming Federation announced, "We will hold the Paris Olympic team selection event in March next year. We have decided to send only a few who wish to participate in the Doha World Championships in February."
Many swimming stars, including men's freestyle David Popovic (Romania), women's freestyle Katie Ledecky (USA), and Ariane Titmus (Australia), declared their absence from the Doha World Championships.
In Korea, key players such as Hwang Sun-woo, Kim Woo-min (Gangwon Provincial Office), and Kim Seo-young (Gyeongbuk Provincial Office) are expected to participate as normal at the Doha World Championships.
As swimming stars from other countries continue to declare their absence, the possibility that Korean swimming will achieve its best performance at the World Championships in Doha next February is increasing. 슬롯사이트
