“We are checking every week.”
KT Heo Hoon is passing during the 2023-2024 KBL Jeonggwanjang professional basketball game between Wonju DB and Suwon KT held at Wonju Sports Complex in Gangwon-do on the afternoon of the 8th.
Suwon KT's Heo Hoon (29), who is out of action due to a calf injury, is expected to return as early as the end of this month or early next month.
KT coach Song Young-jin met with reporters ahead of the 2023-24 Jeong Kwan-Jang professional basketball away game against Sono at Goyang Sono Arena on the 5th and reported on Heo Hoon's condition.
Heo Hoon is in tears due to a series of injuries this season. He was diagnosed with a fractured nasal bone in December last year and was hospitalized for four weeks, but returned after two weeks wearing a face shield.
However, in the last game of the first half of the season against Wonju DB on the 8th of last month, he suffered a ruptured calf fascia and collapsed again. At the time, the club announced that it needed a break of at least one month.
Coach Song said, “The injured area is an area that can recur even during rehabilitation, so we need to approach it carefully.” He added, “It was initially expected that he would join until the A-match break (February 16-27), but it is not certain.”
He continued, “First of all, we are aiming to join at the end of February. However, even if it gets better, there are times when you feel pain for a moment, so it may increase after that,” he explained. “The club checks the player’s condition every week.”
Meanwhile, KT is doing well even without Heo Hoon and is currently in second place.
Coach Song said, “This is thanks to the players’ hard work preparing for the season since last summer. He expressed satisfaction, saying, “In particular, they are following the team defense well,” and “The key players, including Paris Bass, are working hard and playing with confidence.” 스포츠토토맨
