For the Ones Carrying December Quietly

For the Ones Carrying December Quietly

Dec 12, 2025

December looks different when you are carrying more than your heart can hold. If this season feels heavy, you are not alone here.

I want to talk about December in a way that feels honest. Not sparkly, not polished, not what the world tells us it should be. Just real.

For many people, this month is full of excitement. For others, it is a reminder of everything that has been heavy for far too long. I fall into that second category this year, and I know I’m not the only one.

It is hard to feel “festive” when you’re stretched thin financially and emotionally. It is hard when you’re trying to hold a home together on fear and faith. It is hard when you have no village, when bills are stacked higher than the stockings, when you are terrified of losing the only vehicle your family depends on, or the home that keeps your babies safe.

And then there is the quiet grief. The stress no one sees. The health worries you keep brushing aside because you don’t have time to fall apart. The kids reacting to the tension in the house. The marriage strain that makes you feel like you’re walking alone even with someone right next to you. The projects you know could change everything if you just had the space to breathe.

All of that changes how December feels.

You watch people around you embrace the “magic” while you’re trying to patch the roof of your sanity and keep the wolves from the door. You listen to people talk about holiday cheer, and you’re just trying to make sure the lights stay on and the groceries stretch.

I am not writing this to complain. I am writing it because I know someone else feels this way too.

There is nothing wrong with you if December feels heavy.

There is nothing wrong with you if joy feels far away.

There is nothing wrong with you if you are exhausted from carrying the load quietly.

You are doing more than you realize.

You are holding up more than most people will ever understand.

And you have not failed this season just because you cannot match the world’s pace.

I believe with everything in me that God sees the weight we carry. He sees the nights we cannot sleep because the math does not work out. He sees the prayers that sound more like sighs. He sees the effort it takes to show up for your kids when your heart feels thin.

He sees you.

And He has not abandoned you in this chapter.

So if this season feels dim, I hope this little corner of the internet gives you a place to breathe. You are not invisible here. You do not have to force cheer here. You can sit at the table exactly as you are.

I do not know how everything will unfold, but I am choosing to believe there is purpose in this season. And I hope you can believe that for yourself too, even a little.

💛
