Healthy Eating on A Budget
Healthy eating on a budget is possible. This may require a little bit of extra time and effort on your part but with some planning and good choices you can do it!
Here are sine things you can do to help me save money and stick to your budget:
- First, it is important to plan. Plan out the meals you intend to make and when you go shopping.
- Take a list of the items you will need. When you have a shopping list, you are less likely to purchase random junk foods that you do not need, and so you’ll save money.
- Never go to the store on an empty stomach. Eat a snack before going to the store because this will keep you from buying on impulse because you are hungry.
- Eat at home as much as possible. When you go out to eat or stop at a fast-food restaurant’s you will pay extra money for the convenience of someone else preparing the food. Also, some places don’t offer healthy options.
- Purchase foods that are in season. Fresh fruits and vegetables are usually very high in nutrients, but when you want strawberries in January, you’ll end up paying the extra price. Also, checking out your local famers market is a good option.
This is not a full list but a few ideas to get you started on eating healthy while on a budget.
