Do-It-Yourself
March 6, 2021
One of the things that I am most thankful for is the Word of God. These past few months have been the absolute hardest in my life, and I credit God’s Word and the ability to pray to an ever present God for getting me through. I have been denied medical treatment for lack of insurance, misdiagnosed with cancer, offered countless hysterectomies, unemployed, not taken seriously, and have been told that I will never have children by an ob-gyn who is also a fertility specialist. If it had not been for my faith in God, I would have given up on my dreams for motherhood a long time ago. I realize that every journey to motherhood is different and comes with its special set of challenges. I am hoping that my challenges will encourage other women to keep pursuing motherhood in the face of adversity. This speaks to the essence of the Do-It-Yourself Pregnancy Blog; managing your pregnancy dreams on your own terms. I encourage all women to manage their pregnancy as they want to regardless of who is naysaying or just being plain rude.
I want this blog to encourage every prospective mother to have a strong support system, eat healthy, exercise, take care of your mental health, have a set of beliefs that helps you cope, and be gainfully employed with substantial health insurance. Even if the odds are against you getting pregnant, I want this blog to encourage woman to keep trying. I must admit that some days, I think about how difficult this process has been and doubt that I will ever have children, but then I understand that it’s a negative thought and I just have keep going in spite of. I am not going to entertain every negative thought because it is not going to help me achieve pregnancy.
Some things in life, you just have to Do-It-Yourself, whether it be weight loss, your education, or your hustle. Many people will doubt you and even refuse to help you, but you must keep pushing forward towards your dreams. I honestly believe it in my heart that I will give birth to children one day. Sometimes it will take some woman a while to get preganant and I count myself in that group. So let me hear your pregnancy journey. I want to hear from you and I want to hear your stuggles and successes. Let me know how you are doing your Do-It-Yourself Pregnancy.
