Howdy, Buckaroos! 🤠 Big news from the Buc-ee’s trail — the first-ever Wisconsin Buc-ee’s has been approved for Oak Creek!
The city’s planning commission gave the green light for a 73,000-square-foot travel stop near I-94 and Elm Road. That’s right — Buc-ee’s is making its way north, and we couldn’t be more excited to add this one to our Buc-ee’s List of Locations to Visit! 🚗💨🐿️
Of course, not everyone was on board. A group of neighbors raised concerns about traffic, lights, and noise, even filing a lawsuit. But Buc-ee’s isn’t new to this kind of challenge. As Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate and development, put it:
“We’ve got neighbors all over the country who live right next door to us. They didn’t want us there to begin with, either. We’re a good corporate partner. We’re a good local partner.”
To keep things running smoothly, Buc-ee’s is also stepping up in a big way. They’ll be covering $5 to $6 million in road improvements around the interchange — that’s right, Buc-ee’s is paying for it all.
Mayor Daniel Bukiewicz is fully behind the project, confident it will bring major benefits to the area. And according to Buc-ee’s, construction could start later this year, with the Oak Creek location opening its doors in 2027.
This is huge, y’all — Buc-ee’s is officially moving into Wisconsin territory! You can bet your last Beaver Nugget that the Snackin’ Buckaroo will be there when the doors open. Another adventure, another Buc-ee’s stop checked off the list.
