Join me today as I go in search of some unnamed ruins on the Butler Wash side of Comb Ridge, near Bluff, Utah. I've shared several hikes to different ruins and petroglyphs along Comb Ridge, and each one is unique. I decided to seek out this one as it was just a dot on the map with the word 'ruins' next to it. I could find no name, no description of the trail, no pictures, anywhere on the internet, and I felt drawn to seek it out. Butler Wash Road is located along Utah-163, a few miles west of Bluff. The trailhead is 9-miles north of the highway. Butler Wash is a dirt road, and the trailhead for this hike is very small, as this area is far less visited than the first five miles or so. There are other ruins nearby that weren't marked on the map I had, which I have never visited, so I'll save those for another time. I've shared most of the more popular ruins in other videos, so please visit my Utah playlist to watch those. :-)
Comb Ridge is a linear north to south-trending monocline nearly 80 miles long in Southeastern Utah and Northeastern Arizona. Its northern end merges with the Abajo Mountains some eleven miles west of Blanding. It extends essentially due south for 45 km to the San Juan River.
