Kaufe Skupnostna kavarna einen Kaffee

Hey! My name is Ursa, I'm from Ljubljana, Slovenia. I run a project called Community Cafe (Skupnostna kavarna) and my mission is to establish a new concept of a cafe here in Ljubljana, where the guest is not just a guest, but a co-creator. In Community Cafe everyone has an option and gets the opportunity to contribute with their ideas and share their knowledge and skills.

Because it is not so easy to find a proper place, especially with limited finances, I established an online platform www.skup-ka.si and named it 'online cafe'. On this platform you can buy products that you can order in a regular cafe (specialty coffee, homemade juices, different drinks, snacks, breakfasts etc.), all from local and small entrepreneurs.

Besides online coffee shop, we also have pop up activities in a local youth center and in other places in Ljubljana. We have clothing swap events on regular basis, poetry readings, board game afternoons, creative workshops, etc.

I would like to connect those two (local products and activities) in one comfy physical place, a big living room where people would connect with eachother, share their knowledge and feel safe and accepted. Where staff won't be just staff but your friends, where you could have breakfast in a cute second hand bowl, locally roasted coffee with homemade plant based milk, tea from local herbs, refreshing homemade combucha and so much more. A place where you could read a book, mind your own bussiness on a stylish second hand couch or become a part of the community, participate in workshops or interact with others.

The idea is that Community Cafe is sustainable, encourages the exchange of second hand things, supports local and small entrepreneurs, artists and other creators. It brings homeliness, connects coffee and tea lovers, life explorers, creators of all kinds and those who want to be a part of a community. All contributions will go into development of the project, especially into a fond for renting a place.

If you ever come to Ljubljana, let us know, let's connect!  Thank you for your support!
