Have you ever noticed you're the one starting every conversation, planning every date, fixing every argument, remembering every birthday, checking in after every disagreement, and holding everything together?

That's not partnership.

That's over-functioning.

When one person carries the emotional weight of the relationship, eventually they become exhausted. Not because they don't love deeply, but because love was never meant to feel like a full-time job.

Many women learned early that love had to be earned by being helpful, agreeable, and emotionally available.

So they became the relationship manager.

They anticipated needs before anyone asked.

They apologized first.

They kept the peace.

And somewhere along the way, they disappeared.

Healthy relationships require two people willing to carry the weight.

If you're doing all the emotional labor, it's okay to ask yourself:

What am I afraid would happen if I stopped holding everything together?

Sometimes that question reveals more than years of relationship advice ever could.
