How to Transfer WhatsApp from Android to iPhone Fast & Securely

Feb 03, 2023

Switching from Android to iPhone can feel overwhelming, but transferring your WhatsApp messages, files, and contacts doesn’t have to be a hassle. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to quickly and safely transfer your WhatsApp data and conversations from Android to iPhone.

Back-Up Your WhatsApp Data on Android.

Before you transfer WhatsApp from Android to iPhone, the first step is to make sure your data is backed up on your Android device. To do this, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup. Select "Back Up" to back up your chats and media. You will also need to allow permissions for Google Drive if you want to store your data in that cloud service as well.

Export the Exported Files to iCloud or other External Services.

After you've backed up your WhatsApp data on your Android device, the next step is to export the files. On Android, you can use a third-party app such as DR.Fone to transfer the chat history and media files from the old phone to the new one. Alternatively, you can also upload the backup file to iCloud or other third-party online services such as Google Drive to access it from any device--including iPhone. Once you have exported them, be sure to delete the copy from your Android device for security reasons.

Import WhatsApp Data into iPhone using iTunes or iCloud Drive.

After backing up your Android device, you're ready to import the data on your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud Drive. To do this with iTunes, connect both your Android and iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes. When prompted, select “This computer” for Backups. Select the backup file for your previous device from the list then click “Continue”. iTunes will transfer the WhatsApp files from Android to iPhone. If you prefer an online method, upload the backup file to iCloud or another online storage service, then download it on your new phone. Finally, open the WhatsApp app, log in with your account details, and restore from settings.

Reinstall WhatsApp and Set Up New Account on your iPhone.

After transferring your WhatsApp data from Android to iPhone, you’ll need to reinstall the app. You can do this by searching for “WhatsApp” in the App Store, or simply scanning the QR code displayed on the WhatsApp website. Once installed, open the app and enter your registered phone number and verify it with a one-time passcode. If you backed up your data online, log into that same account via settings and initiate a restore process. Welcome back!

Restore Chats from Backups to Use WhatsApp on iPhone Again.

To restore backed-up data, launch the WhatsApp app on your iPhone and tap “Restore” in the pop-up window. You’ll be prompted to enter your previously registered phone number and verify it with a one-time passcode. Your WhatsApp data will then automatically be restored depending on which backup file you select. Note that backing up your chats online is recommended for keeping all of your messages safe.
