235 g cotton, cotton blends, or natural fiber blends (cotton/silk, linen/cotton/silk, etc.)
4 mm (US 6) knitting needles
2.5 mm crochet hook
This project is worked using the Combination Continental knitting style.
Suggested yarns:
Construction: knit two rectangles and join them at the shoulders and sides.
Each rectangle is worked as follows:
Cast-on row
4 rows Garter Stitch
58 vertical repeats (116 rows) of the main stitch pattern
4 rows Garter Stitch
Bind off

Main Stitch Pattern

6 stitch, 2 row repeat
Right Side (RS) row, repeat:
k2, yarn over, knit two together left-leaning, knit two together left leaning, yarn over
Wrong Side (WS) row:
Purl all stitches.
Edge Stitches
Throughout the entire project:
Slip the first stitch at the beginning of every row.
Knit the last stitch using the Eastern knitting method.

Instructions
Using 4 mm needles, cast on 136 stitches, including edge stitches.
Work 4 rows in Garter Stitch.
Then begin the main stitch pattern:
edge stitch,
(k2, yarn over, knit two together left-leaning, knit two together left leaning, yarn over) repeat 22 times, k2, edge stitch.
Continue in pattern for 46 cm (18.1”).
You may work additional rows if you prefer a longer garment.
Next, work 4 rows in Garter Stitch.
Bind off all stitches.
Finishing
Join the shoulder seams.
Each shoulder seam should measure between 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8”), depending on how wide you would like the neckline opening to be.
Join the side seams for 15 cm (5.9”) on each side.
Finished Rectangle Size
Each rectangle measures approximately:
77 cm × 55 cm
(30.3” × 21.7”)

This stitch pattern is highly elastic and stretches significantly.
Finished measurements may vary depending on your gauge and how much the fabric relaxes after blocking.
