Hello and welcome. Thank you for supporting my work.
My name is Sheree and I'm Creatrix: she who makes. I live on the north-east coast of England and enjoy getting in the North Sea, all year around.
With a practice which manifests through poetry, storytelling, image and the unfolding histories of black people, I engage audiences around black women’s voices and bodies, black feminism, ecology and memory, trauma and grief, nature and healing. I facilitates national and international creative workshops and retreats in the landscape, encouraging and supporting women on their journey of remembrance back to their bodies and authentic selves.
I also host the The Earth Sea Love Podcast, where we share stories about our connection to nature.
I hold a PhD in Creative Writing from Newcastle University focusing on the tradition of black British women’s poetry.
I've created this space for people that want to support my work. I've been on Patreon and Substack ( and the archives are still there), but now I'm choosing a more direct approach to getting my caffeine fix and keep creating. This really does help me to keep creating and sharing my makings.
Thank you for your support x
