My husband has a saying, one of his many quotable phrases that I absolutely love. The saying is, "the truth hurts less when you're made of it." We've all had moments where we heard some direct truth and were not too fond of it. Whether it was coming from loved ones, co-workers or from the sacred inner voice inside of us whispering loving truthful messages, to try to nudge us to make the right choices; to go in the right direction. The more distant and resistant we are to hear and receive the truth, the harder it is to see people for who they are, including ourselves. Make shortening your distance from the truth a daily habit to reinforce your ability to stay in God's discerning wisdom, to support you in developing healthy loving relationships.
