Counting the Cost

Counting the Cost

Happy Hump Day my LoveLees!

Well it's been a bit of a week for me so far. I had an interesting work opportunity that came across my path that I was struggling with the decision of whether to accept it or not. How do you make decisions? Do you gather all the facts first and then make a decision based on your findings? Or do you go on gut feelings? I think I do a little of both. Some things definitely warrant further investigation.

One thing God is teaching me about is trusting the Holy Spirit in me. I always want to see the best in every situation but seeing the best can be just as detrimental as seeing the worst. It didn't take me long this time however. I was sincerely excited about the potential it would bring but I also counted the cost. So I slept on it before saying anything. This morning I was sure.

Luke 14:27-30 says

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’

I think there's great wisdom in counting the cost.

I know everyone I need to meet to be successful in this life will cross my path in the right time. And this situation just wasn't the right fit for me. The best part is I feel at peace about it so I know I made the right choice. In the past lack of self confidence would have paralyzed me and then I would overthink it. It feels good to be confident in Christ in me.
