This Black Moon in Virgo turned our arguments into a portal.
August 23rd brought the Black Moon in Virgo at zero degrees, and wow… it showed up in my life big time. My partner and I hit some heavy tension that day. Old wounds bubbled up, and it felt like everything we’ve been working on in therapy was being tested.
By the end of the night, though, things started to shift. We shared some amazing Pakistani food, curled up to watch The One I Love on Prime Video (a movie I picked at random… but you know there are no coincidences). The whole theme of that movie — a couple facing their higher selves in a cabin — cracked me wide open. It got me thinking: what does my greatest version look like? What does his?
A Night of Shadows
That night at 8pm, I had originally planned a New Moon circle, but no one could make it (in hindsight I realized how synchronistic that was). Feeling inspired, I did my own ritual with a pendulum to connect with my Higher Self. That stirred things up again — my partner woke up, saw the pendulum, and wasn’t feeling it. We ended up in another long, drawn-out argument that went all the way until dawn.
My emotions were all over the place — crying, rage, wanting space, sitting in darkness, beating a bench with a blanket, then talking it through again. It was exhausting… but necessary.
After hours of release and reflection, things finally calmed down. I looked at my partner and said I wanted us to start anew. We had never really been given that chance before. When he came into my life, I was still married to my second husband and carrying all the pain and baggage of my past. He was also carrying inner child wounds that my presence often triggered, which is why couples therapy became necessary for us.
Start Anew: That was our new moon intention.
The Shift at One Degree
When we finally woke up later on the 24th, everything felt different. The Moon had moved from zero degrees (the womb, pure potential) into one degree Virgo (the spark, the kickoff). Overnight, we had stepped into a new version of ourselves. Just like the couple in The One I Love, we had faced our shadows, and came out changed.
Creators of Micro-Realities
That day felt like a portal that stretched into every moment. I slipped into guru mode and reminded my partner that we are creators — not just of art or songs, but of the little things that shape our days.
I created breakfast.
I created the vibe of the day.
I created a safe container for us to reset.
And I pointed out all that he created too. For the first time, he really saw himself as more than a problem-solver...and he saw creativity as the essence of life. It opened something in him — a new way of thinking that was less rigid and more creative. That’s Virgo’s gift: helping us refine the little choices until they add up to a whole new life.
We imagined ourselves as healed, upgraded versions — as if we were meeting again for the first time after being apart, each of us having learned and grown. We acted out a scenario where he had just stepped off the train and arrived at my house, meeting me fresh and renewed.
Pretending soon gave way to truth. The energy stabilized. We no longer needed to imagine. We were living the upgraded versions of ourselves.
The Upgrade
By the end of the day, we weren’t pretending anymore. We had truly reset. Our intention to start anew was alive in every part of our relationship. And something magical happened — we started making music again. Effortlessly. Joyfully. After months of not creating together, the flow returned.
My Mars in Virgo was running the program, and I could feel the software update complete. For my partner, the New Moon plus his psychic number 3 gave him a fresh identity as a creator.
And when he looked into his Human Design, he found out he’s a Manifesting Generator — a natural builder of energy, a creator, and a problem-solver. Everything clicked. Meanwhile, my psychic number 11 showed up strong, illuminating my role as the guide, the teacher, the one delivering the lessons we both needed.

Together, the Black Moon didn’t just reset our relationship. It recalibrated us both — individually and as a duo.
