I wanted to share a bit about where I’m at in my journey, especially for those who’ve been following and supporting me.
I’m currently still in foster care, but I’ll be aging out this December — and with that comes a lot of uncertainty. I’ve already been through so much: escaping an abusive home, living with cerebral palsy, using a wheelchair full-time, and navigating systems that were never built for disabled people like me.
Right now, the Ministry still hasn’t confirmed whether they’ll fund my personal care past September — and Fraser Health won’t step in to help until after I turn 19 in December. That means there’s a three-month gap where I don’t know how I’ll access the support I need to live safely and with dignity.
