Happy thanksgiving!
Last month has been filled with many emotions and business of life and I am now sitting at the gate headed to Cambodia and Korea for time of sabbath, soul retreat on this glorious Thanksgiving morning. Reflecting to see what does making room with thanksgiving and leaning into sabbath during this soul retreat would look like.
I went for a walk this morning and the following songs played which felt like the perfect playlist of my heart’s outcry with following lyrics…
Make Room - “This is my surrender. I will make room for You to do whatever You want to do”
More Than Able - “How did I start to believe You weren't sufficient for me?
Why do I talk myself out of seeing miracles?…Can you imagine with all of the faith in the room. What the Lord can do?”You are more than able
Be Still - “Be still my heart and know You are God alone. Stop thinking so much. Just let go.”
Provider - “You’re the fortress in the storm. The Provider in this place, even in the desert. You’ll let me go. You’re filling up my scar, You do it by the the breath of life. Again, I will rise, and run to You, my Lord.”
Lighthouse - “You are the voice inside thе wind calling me out and further in…Like a lighthouse through the darkness. You're always waiting for me.”
So… as I wait here in midst of all the travelers. I’m wondering what it looks like to make room with my whole being, to make room with thanksgiving for God to be God, my Provider, my Healer and my companion in my soul, mind, heart, and spirit. With that- I’m also going on social media fast and to lean into slow snail likeness of this season.
I do ask for your prayers for travel mercies and also for me to wrap up Zero to Sero: Learning to Live Loved (Updated of my first book) during my sabbath.
