I would like to share the third channel trailer for the gaming channel, Serenity Solo Plays. A new one will be released on New Years Eve 2025. As with all my other channel trailers, this is full of legally licensed songs, which are listed further down.
Firstly, I would like to explain why I have a Buy Me a Coffee channel for Serenity Solo Plays. This is due to the song licensing costs being very high for some videos, especially these trailers. I also have to double license all the songs to use in the next episode previews and the collections. Some videos can cost me well over £100. Due to this, some videos must be left without previews, but these will always get a look back at the end of the series.
There is also the fact that I can only afford to hire a thumbnail designer to work on 4 thumbnails per month. Videos at the moment have at least 8 per month going live. This will increase to 12 once the third day starts. Therefore, I must pick and choose which videos can and can't have thumbnails added to them right now.
Finally, I would like to take on some video editors at some point to ease the burden on myself. I'm currently working 12+ hours per day, most days of the week, if not all the week if everything is piled up. Choosing the licensed tracks for the next episode previews can take up to 5 hours each. Sometimes I do get very lucky and find one within 30 minutes, but this is very rare. I do want to get the videos up to 5 days per week if possible on YouTube, 6 days per week on Patreon.
My videos are not a copy and paste of all the other Let's Plays you can find on YouTube. Maybe the main show as it is a Let's Play, but not the intro and outro in some videos. I am currently testing what works for the intros. Coming up, recaps, nothing. I never wanted to use royalty free music in my videos as everyone seems to do that. I wanted to invest into my videos. This is why the next episode previews do use licensed songs.
There are also the big channel trailers, like the one linked here, and next episode preview collections, for those who only want the songs, or the look back collections. Serenity Solo VoDs shall also have longer videos posted there for those who want less interruptions. Either a full episode or up to 12 hours maximum. These will combine many episodes into one long video.
Since I do not rely on royalty free music, this channel is very expensive to create. Since I work alone right now, it's also very time consuming. I need to record, edit, render, and upload. One video can take between 2-5 hours alone depending on length, and that is before choosing a song or rendering.
Those are my reasons for Serenity Solo Plays having a Buy Me a Coffee. If people do start requesting memberships, I shall add those and give early access to the content. As of now, I only have this set up as a donation page.
