Let's talk about this event, because the weather forecast does NOT look good, but the coordinator has gone above and beyond with a contingency plan I've never experienced before as I approach a new milestone of 200 events.
This event was scheduled to take place on the streets in historic downtown Plymouth, IN. But, with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, the local businesses have agreed to open their doors to vendors and allow us to set up inside!
A GIANT thank-you to the Heartland Art Center, who is coordinating this event, for doing the extra work to make this back-up plan happen so the festival isn't canceled! Typically, outdoor events are held rain or shine, and if the event is shut down due to lightning, then the vendors are just out of luck and highly unlikely to receive their booth fee back. I'm relieved to say that's not the case, and I can set up my display without being worried about anything being damaged by high winds and rain.
I will be set up inside Treats Squire Shop with a few other artists, and vendors will be dispersed throughout the small businesses downtown that generously made space for us. So, if you're planning to attend, please PLEASE make sure that you visit these businesses and share your appreciation, because this level of coordination and cooperation really is unheard of! (I'm blown away by it, if you couldn't tell!)
