Unstop Acquires Talent Assessment Firm PerspectAI in an All-Equity Deal to Deepen AI-Led Hiring
Hiring platform Unstop has acquired talent assessment company PerspectAI in an all-equity swap with no cash consideration, bringing PerspectAI's technology platform, intellectual property, data, clients and revenue fully under Unstop. The deal has already closed, with all PerspectAI employees, including both founders, joining Unstop as part of the transaction.

Here's what Unstop is actually getting. PerspectAI operates at the intersection of what it calls Game Science, Data Science and People Science, using psychometrics, cognitive and behavioural science, and AI-driven game-based assessments to understand how people think, learn, solve problems and respond to real-world situations. In practice, this converts behavioural and cognitive signals into concrete indicators of employability, role fit, and future potential, capturing attributes that a resume or a standardised test simply can't measure. PerspectAI's enterprise client list is genuinely impressive too, spanning Aditya Birla Capital, Tata Sons, Swiggy and Motilal Oswal across banking, education, manufacturing and consumer technology.
A detail that matters here: PerspectAI was profitable in FY26 before the deal, which makes this an acquisition of a real operating business, not just a technology or talent buyout dressed up as an acqui-hire.
The leadership transition is worth noting too. PerspectAI co-founder and CEO Jignesh Talasila will lead Unstop's expansion into education and government, while co-founder and CTO Suraj Vanka joins Unstop's product leadership team, both stepping into meaningful roles rather than exiting after the deal closes.
Unstop's own founder and CEO Ankit Aggarwal framed the logic plainly, saying PerspectAI isn't a bet on a future roadmap, it's a product that large, demanding enterprises already trust and pay for, and that validation combined with the team's depth in game, data and people science is exactly why the acquisition made sense. The strategy going forward is to bring PerspectAI's assessment tools to Unstop's existing base of campus recruiters, lateral hiring teams and large enterprises, while giving PerspectAI's own enterprise customers access to Unstop's broader talent engagement ecosystem, which connects more than 32 million students and professionals with employers.
From engagement and discovery to deep behavioural assessment, Unstop's move signals that the next battleground in hiring tech isn't just finding candidates, it's actually understanding them.
