Google Just Gave Your Family an AI Employee — Meet "CC," the Agent That Runs Your Household

Google is quietly testing something that looks less like a chatbot and more like hiring a very capable, very available family assistant — one that gets its own Google account.

CC (Gemini-powered) can coordinate schedules, documents, email, reminders, forms, and shared tasks for up to six family members.

Here's what actually sets it apart from a regular Gemini chat:

→ It has its own Google account and identity, not just a conversation window
→ Each morning, it can generate a shared "Your Day Ahead" briefing for the whole household
→ Family members can route specific emails to it, chat with it directly through Google Chat, or give it access to a shared Drive folder of invitations and documents
→ It can update calendars, track unfinished tasks, create documents, and prefill forms — like school permission slips
→ It builds shared memory of household preferences over time, while still respecting limits on what each family member chooses to expose
→ It's built to seek confirmation before sending any information outside the family group
→ Each deployment runs in an isolated cloud environment on Google's Antigravity agent infrastructure, using Gemini 3.8 Flash

For now, it's adults-only, personal-accounts-only, and waitlist-gated — clearly an early experiment, not a polished launch.

Here's what I find genuinely interesting about this: Google isn't trying to make Gemini answer more questions faster. It's testing whether the next big consumer AI interface is a persistent digital operator — something with memory, permissions, and the ability to act across services — rather than another prompt box you type into. That's a meaningfully different product category. A chatbot waits for you. An agent like CC is meant to run in the background and just handle things.

The obvious question this raises: how much of your family's coordination — school forms, shared calendars, who's picking up what — are you comfortable handing to something that has its own account and its own judgment about what counts as "done"?

Would you actually let an AI agent manage your family's day-to-day logistics, or does that cross a line for you?
