Education-Focused NBFC Auxilo Reports Rs 676 Crore Revenue and Rs 117 Crore Profit in FY26

Mumbai-based education-focused NBFC Auxilo posted a 28% year-on-year growth in operating revenue to Rs 676 crore in FY26, while its net profit remained largely stable at Rs 117 crore, only marginally up from Rs 112 crore in FY25, despite the strong top-line growth.

Here's what weighed on profitability. Total expenditure rose 35% to Rs 533 crore in FY26, up from Rs 394 crore the previous fiscal year, driven by higher finance costs, employee expenses, and a mix of other outlays including IT expenses, advertisement, and business sourcing costs. In simple terms, revenue grew faster than the company's ability to convert it into higher profit, a pattern that shows Auxilo is still investing heavily to scale even as its lending book expands.

The balance sheet tells its own story too. Auxilo held cash and bank balances of Rs 412 crore at the end of FY26, down from Rs 544 crore a year earlier, suggesting the company deployed a meaningful chunk of its liquidity into growing its loan book and operations during the year.

The bigger funding picture adds useful context. Auxilo has raised over $200 million in equity and debt to date, backed by marquee names including Tata Capital, Balrampur Chini Mills, and ICICI Bank, capital that has fuelled its position as a serious player in India's education financing space. It now competes directly with Avanse Financial, Grayquest, Propelld, Financepeer, and Leap Finance, in a category that continues to see strong loan demand even as broader concerns persist around unsecured lending and graduate employability.

Revenue growth without proportional profit growth is a familiar chapter in India's NBFC playbook, and Auxilo's FY26 numbers show a company still very much in that scale-first phase.
