Design-Led Fashion Brand Theater Raises Rs 75 Crore Series A Led by Niveshaay at a Rs 410 Crore Valuation
Mumbai-based fashion brand Theater has raised Rs 75 crore in a Series A round led by investment firm Niveshaay, with participation from new investor Physis Capital and existing backer Prath Ventures, valuing the company at Rs 410 crore on a post-money basis.

Here's what Theater is actually building. Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain and Shruti Aggarwal, the startup positions itself as a design-led, mass-premium western fashion brand, selling footwear, stockings, perfumes and bags, aimed squarely at the gap between mass-market products and imported luxury labels. Co-founder and CEO Sarthak Aggarwal put it simply, they started Theater because they couldn't find beautiful, well-made accessories in India that weren't either a luxury import or a compromise, so they decided to build them themselves, made in India and priced for a generation that cares about design but doesn't want luxury pricing.
The fresh capital has a clear purpose. Theater plans to use it to accelerate offline expansion, establishing a physical retail presence across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, while also investing in brand-building initiatives, including marketing campaigns and celebrity partnerships in the coming months.
The growth numbers back the bet. Theater recorded operating revenue of Rs 33.35 crore in the financial year ending March 2025, roughly 2.37 times its revenue from the previous year, and the company says its business has grown eightfold over the past two years. This round follows an earlier $1.5 million pre-Series A raised in September 2024, also led by Prath Ventures.
Niveshaay founder Arvind Kothari explained the thesis behind the bet, the firm backs category-creating brands addressing clear market gaps with strong consumer pull, and footwear, stockings and bags remain a largely unorganised space with limited design-led options for the aspirational Indian woman, a gap Kothari says Theater has filled with products consumers discovered organically.
The competitive landscape shows just how active this space has become. Theater now competes with brands like Snitch, which raised Rs 278.9 crore in a Series B round, The Bear House with its Rs 50 crore Series A, MyDesignation at Rs 40 crore, Miraggio's $6.5 million round, and Alaya by Stage3's recent seed raise, all chasing the same design-led, mass-premium opportunity.
From an online-first accessories brand to a nationwide offline retail push, Theater's Series A is a bet that India's aspirational fashion buyer is ready to pay a little more for real design.
