Deep-Tech Cybersecurity Company QNu Labs Raises Rs 200 Crore in Series A1 Round to Scale Quantum-Safe Security

Bengaluru-based QNu Labs, a deep-tech cybersecurity company building quantum-safe solutions, has raised Rs 200 crore in a Series A1 round co-led by India's National Quantum Mission and Speciale Invest, with participation from Sony Innovation Fund, Gaja Capital and Artha Ventures. The round takes QNu Labs' total capital raised to date to Rs 375 crore.

Here's what makes this space genuinely important right now. As enterprises and governments worldwide prepare for the shift to quantum-safe infrastructure, QNu Labs builds patented, certified, military-grade products around technologies like Quantum Key Distribution, Quantum Random Number Generation, and Post-Quantum Cryptography, essentially the security backbone that becomes non-negotiable once quantum computing threatens today's encryption standards. Its solutions are already deployed by clients globally to secure critical infrastructure.

The fresh capital has a clear mandate. Part of it will go toward QNu's contribution to an approved RDI-funded project to build the technology backbone of India's Quantum Secure and Sensing Networks. Beyond that, the company plans to extend its quantum-safe stack into quantum sensing and AI, deepen deployments across critical sectors, and build out capabilities to meet growing global demand for quantum-safe migration. Roughly 80% of this round came from new investors globally, a signal the company's co-founder called strong proof that international conviction in quantum-safe security is genuinely building.

The founding story adds real depth. QNu Labs was co-founded in 2016 by Srinivasa Rao Aluri and Sunil Gupta, and incubated at IIT Madras. This isn't its first institutional backing either, it previously raised Rs 60 crore in a Series A round led by the National Quantum Mission last year, and $6.5 million in a pre-Series A1 round led by investor Ashish Kacholia back in December 2023.

The bigger picture is what makes this round matter beyond one company. India's National Quantum Mission has set an aggressive 2029 timeline for quantum-safe infrastructure adoption, and Gaja Capital's own co-founder framed quantum-safe security as becoming national infrastructure, as essential to a digital economy as power and transport are to the physical one.

From a decade of quiet R&D at IIT Madras to a Rs 375 crore war chest, QNu Labs is positioning itself right at the center of India's quantum-security transition, before the rest of the world catches up.
