Clean-Label Beverage Brand Sorry Sugar Raises $1 Million in Seed Funding to Take on India's Sugar-Conscious Gen Z
Gurugram-based Sorry Sugar, a clean-label beverage brand, has raised $1 million in its first seed funding round, co-led by the Dhanuka family and Amishi London, as it looks to expand its footprint across North India and speed up new product launches.

Here's what Sorry Sugar is actually building. The brand makes zero-added-sugar, fibre-rich, gut-friendly coffee beverages sweetened with monk fruit instead of sugar, with a current lineup including flavours like Hazel Almond Latte, Silk Chocolate Mocha, Sea Salt Caramel, French Vanilla Cloud and Butter Gooey Toffee. It's positioned squarely at Gen Z and health-conscious consumers who want indulgent taste without the sugar guilt, and its formulations are also designed with diabetics in mind.
The early traction is genuinely striking. Sorry Sugar crossed Rs 1 crore in revenue in its very first month of operations, and currently runs three offline stores across Gurugram and Delhi, alongside its direct-to-consumer and quick-commerce channels. The company is now targeting an annual recurring revenue of more than Rs 60 crore by the end of this financial year, a bold target for a brand barely out of its first funding round.
The founder story adds an interesting layer. Sorry Sugar was founded this year by Deepak Pathak, Kunal Verma, Shashank Sherawat and Saiyam Malik, and was incubated by Palash Arneja, founder of BlaBliBlu, alongside Wolfpack Labs, led by Aakash Anand and Prerna Gupta, giving it a head start through an experienced consumer-brand incubation network rather than building entirely from scratch.
The fresh capital has a clear roadmap: expand online and offline presence across North India, accelerate new product launches, and move into an entirely new category, zero-added-sugar gelatos, also sweetened with monk fruit. This lands squarely in India's heating-up clean-label beverage space, where players like Peping and Swizzle have raised smaller seed rounds recently, and TABP Snacks and Beverages raised $3 million to scale manufacturing, signalling real investor appetite for sugar-conscious consumer brands.
From a Rs 1 crore first month to a Rs 60 crore ARR target, Sorry Sugar's bet is that India's Gen Z wants indulgence without the sugar, and they're moving fast to prove it.
