Bajaj Finance Acquires 5% Stake in TrueFan AI as Part of Its Finserv Intelligence Initiative

Bajaj Finance, India's largest private sector non-banking financial company and part of Bajaj Finserv, has acquired a 5% stake in TrueFan AI, an AI-powered video generation platform operated by Gurugram-based Hogwarts E-learning Universe Private Limited, for an undisclosed value.

Here's the strategic thinking behind this move. The investment falls under Finserv Intelligence, Bajaj Finserv's group-wide initiative in applied research and innovation, designed to back high-tech, scalable solutions built in India, for India and global markets. The initiative will let Bajaj Finance invest in early-stage technology startups, from seed to Series B, across sectors like AI, cybersecurity, quantum technologies, fintech and consumer technology, and TrueFan AI marks one of its first bets.

This isn't a cold investment either, it builds on an existing commercial relationship. Bajaj Finance has already been using TrueFan's platform at scale, generating millions of personalised videos for customer engagement and dealer enablement. Rajeev Jain, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finance, said the company is deploying AI at scale as a "FINAI company," and that this investment follows sustained, production-scale use of TrueFan's technology, giving Bajaj Finance first-hand experience of its capabilities before committing capital.

Here's what makes TrueFan AI itself compelling. Founded in 2020 by Devender Bindal, Nimish Goel and Nevaid Aggarwal, the platform uses deep-learning models to synthesise facial dynamics, gestures and voice, generating personalised, studio-quality videos and avatars from a single recording, at a scale of up to 500,000 localised videos per minute across more than 175 languages. The company counts HDFC Bank and Zomato among its clients, had previously raised $10 million in a Series A round led by Baring Private Equity Partners India and Z3 Partners, and posted Rs 17.1 crore in FY25 revenue, up 131% year-on-year.

The partnership's next chapter looks broader too, the two companies plan to expand collaboration into personalised marketing, in-app live avatar assistance, multilingual communication, dealer engagement, learning and development, and digital onboarding.

From dealer-enablement videos to a strategic equity stake, Bajaj Finance's move into TrueFan AI shows large Indian financial institutions are no longer just customers of AI startups, they're becoming investors in the technology they depend on.
