Antler and Nikhil Kamath Back Healthtech Startup Aignosis with a Rs 4 Crore Seed Round for AI Autism Screening
Jaipur-based healthtech startup Aignosis has raised Rs 4 crore in a seed funding round led by early-stage investment firm Antler and Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, with participation from angel investors including Digit Insurance founder Varun Dua and IIMA Ventures.
Here's what Aignosis is actually building. The startup uses computer vision technology to analyse behavioural signals in children between 16 months and nine years old, using nothing more than a standard laptop and webcam, to screen for autism and other developmental conditions. It operates on what it calls a Clinic-in-Clinic model, embedding its technology directly into existing healthcare settings rather than building standalone clinics, and has already deployed its screening system across more than 20 government Primary Health Centres in Rajasthan.
The regulatory groundwork is already in place. Aignosis has completed its approval process with India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and received Class B certification for the technology, a meaningful hurdle cleared for any AI-driven diagnostic tool looking to operate within India's formal healthcare system.
The fresh capital has a clear roadmap. Aignosis plans to expand beyond Rajasthan into Punjab, NCR, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Maharashtra, building wider screening and referral networks as it moves from validating the technology to deploying it across India's healthcare ecosystem at scale, with a target of 100,000 screenings by FY27. The startup has also partnered with Mankind Pharma, whose medical representatives are now supporting screening camps alongside paediatricians across the country.
Nikhil Kamath's own reasoning for backing the startup is telling. He pointed specifically to Aignosis's distribution strategy, starting in government health centres and small clinics rather than private hospitals in metro cities, calling that "distribution thinking that actually moves the needle at scale." Founded in 2024 by Raksheet Jain and Divyansh Mangal, Aignosis had raised its first round back in 2024 from investors including Rajneesh Bhandari and Amit Jain, and was also selected among 20 startups for a Google cohort from over 1,600 applicants.
From a laptop webcam to government health centres across seven states, Aignosis is betting that early autism screening doesn't need expensive equipment, it needs the right distribution.
