For Ruskin Bond's 90th Birthday Celebration, David Davidar, novelist and publisher, hosted the lunch. Sandeep's book My Good School, published by Rupa Publications India, has an endorsement by Ruskin: "Good advice for those who want good schools to be even better."
In 1986, Sandeep published Ruskin's books Beautiful Garhwal and Ganga Descends. Both books are about Garhwal, the region's Ganga—people and culture. People make a place what it is, and Ruskin, from his Ivy Cottage atop Landour, has penned stories about nature and the world we live in and is a proud recipient of many awards and accolades. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992 for Our Trees Still Grow in Dehra. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Bhushan in 2014.
