ah .. korea.. forever in my heart..
a truly special place. a gift that keeps on giving. the incredible cinema (which is a mite favorite!), the biggest boy and girl groups on the planet, the skincare everyone loves! but there is soooo much more..
i got to visit seoul this year for the first time and - as cliche as it sounds [yes, i'm just like those people going to bali and coming back all zen and into yoga] - it changed me!
it opened up my eyes to how much there is to explore out there. generally, i mean. like the whole world.. you know ?
..and how much i hate being in the same ol' country for too long. a mite's heart yearns for constant exploration - 2 weeks in korea was not enough! i need at least 2 years !!!
i felt right at home. it was a strange feeling. to the eyes, everything was so new, but it felt as if i'd been there before.
i've studied hangul in the past. reading all the signs - and even being able to converse a bit in basic scenarios - made me feel mitey cool ! ha
hope to go back soon.
i put together a playlist with some of my go-to south korean songs. most (if not all) are pre-kpop era. soooo many hidden gems. (i don't know what kind of addictive substances they put in 'em, but man.. i could listen to these on and on and on.. i'm sure you will too !)
