THE original drawing: Tribute to Wanda Ewing (Sue)

Original ink drawing watercolor, in support of my upcoming artist residency at Proyecto Ace in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the same artist residency Wanda Ewing participated in, in 2011. This drawing features a mini reproduction of one of the print Wanda made to fund her residency, alongside a self portrait. Text reads: "Wanda Ewing (1970-2013, Omaha) was a brilliant feminist artist who celebrated the beauty and strength of the (black) female body. Much of her work was lush & feminine. This print, 'Sue,' was made for her fundraiser to fund her residency in Buenos Aires. It was the start of her series around the mistreatment of video vixens. As a white woman, I (Sally) acknowledge the complexities of honoring her work and my many privileges as a white woman as I head to the same residency." 8.5x11"
