I've been wanting to do this for a long time - to share with you Russian songs about the war, or rather against it.
But it was hard for me to do it, because every time I listen to these songs, I have tears in my eyes.
Давно хотела это сделать - поделиться с вами русскими песнями о войне, а точнее против неё.
Но мне было тяжело это сделать, потому что каждый раз, когда я слушаю эти песни - у меня слёзы на глазах.

The soloist of this band "DDT" Yuri Shevchuk, said at one of his concerts that he wrote this song back in 1980, when his classmate brought the first three coffins to Russia from Afghanistan. They were talking and he wrote this song. Then he was called by the security services of that time, the Ministry of Culture and the KGB. And they asked him: "What the f*ck, you wrote this song? Our guys are building kindergartens in Afghanistan and so on..." And he told them: "And our guys are dying in Afghanistan. And for what? What are the meanings? Goals?"
"Increase territories? More slaves, more territories, more bread, more meat - the feudal lord is satisfied. This is the thinking of the 17th century. Territories don't mean much nowadays. The main thing is brains, charisma, and a thirst to build a good Homeland so that everyone lives happily. That's the main thing"
Солист группы - Юрий Шевчук сказал на одном из своих концертов, что написал эту песню ещё в 1980 году, когда его одноклассник привёз первые три гроба в Россию. Они разговаривали и он написал эту песню. Потом его вызывали службы безопасности того времени, министерство культуры, КГБ. И все его спрашивали: "Какого хера, ты сопляк, написал эту песню? Наши пацаны в Афганистане детские сады строят и так далее...". А он им сказал: "И погибают наши пацаны в Афганистане. А за что? Какие смыслы? Цели?"
"Увеличивать территории? Больше рабов, больше территорий, больше хлеба, больше мяса - феодал доволен. Это мышление 17-ого века. В наше время территории мало что значат. Главное - мозги, харизма, и жажда построить хорошую Родину, чтобы все жили счастливо. Вот что главное"
