Kaufe Rush Creek Bread einen Kaffee

“Old World Style” Real Bread. It has whole food flavor, nutrition, and health benefits.

Micro business is hard. Bucking the institutional food system and consumer acceptance of processed and manufactured food products sometimes feels impossible.

As a cottage food production operation, we are baking real breads for our community from our home with locally sourced small farm grains.

It is a dream of every committed home baker to transition from the kitchen to a bakery, to be able to produce quality breads, and also be a contributor to the local community, through created jobs and quality baked goods.

Rush Creek Bread is committed to several fundamental guiding principles through action:

1. Fresh milled. As a miller and baker, we mill the flours we need fresh, and on demand. The flavor benefits are the principle reason, but the health benefits of live flours are undeniable.

2. Locally sourced quality and synthetic chemical free. By finding, and buying local we are an active participant in the grain train supporting local small farmers (who reject the use of synthetic chemicals like glyphosate), supports our community of farmers and encourages robust crop rotation, which benefits us all in many ways (health, and a greater diversity of available local grains).

3. Whole grain. Whole food. Nature gives us this amazing seed. We used it all, bran, germ, and endosperm. Of course whole grain baking presents challenges, but hello…

4. Naturally leavened (sourdough) for flavor and health. The benefits of slow foods, fermented foods, natural foods, is undeniable.

I love a great cup of coffee. However, proceeds from this platform will be saved and used exclusively toward the build out and equipping of a future community mill and bakery.
