Things have not been the best for the fandom lately. I think we're loosing our track, we're diverting from our goal.
Recently there was an unwarranted backlash against a scene in peacemaker show from the fandom. The scene ( like the show ) was unfunny and forced but it works because that's the nature / theme of show, that's the genre of the show. I don't see a reason for the outrage. Dislike it for being unfunny is fine, but there was no reason to get mad about it.
About James Gunn, there are plenty of reasons to dislike / like him. But I don't think we should obsess so much about him, remember we joke how Snyder lives rent free in people's minds? Don't let gunn be in your mind all the time. He's making movies / show which a lot of people like, let them have their fun, it shouldn't bother us.
About Peacemaker, the show is not everyone's cup of me ( including me ) but we gotta realise every movie or a show has a different audience, we love Snyder's style & some people like gunn's edgy toilet humor. We got a lot of hate for liking Snyder's movies, his dark and serious yet beautiful style, we must not do the same to them about peacemaker or any other of his projects.
Tldr
Our fight is with WB and executives not with James Gunn, he may be unlikable but he's not our enemy. His presence should be ignored along with his fans. We should try our best to not interact with them, it helps them more than us. The more we talk about peacemaker, the more clout it gets, more people get to know about it
People will associate gunn and peacemaker with anti snyder crowd. And these people love to hype anything that's anti snyder. So by hating on peacemaker, you guys are helping it. And remember, if the show does very well, gunn will keep getting future projects.
BTW, i don't care if show does well or flops. I am presenting you with reasons as to why we must not increase engagement about gunn's project. There's been a lot of negativity in the fandom lately and I think we should chill just a little bit, i am aware there are people who are worse, people who are toxic but we must remember, they do all of this to tease us, get engagement out of us. We must become more tolerant and less susceptible to their baits. Let's change our focus back to WB and Snyder's movies, specially rebel moon and ray fisher in "the women of the moment" .
