Our country is divided. Politics and policies are separating friends and families. In this time of uncertainty it's important that Sunset comes together as a community to support each other. We need to get more people involved in community events. You can't support the people in your community if you don't know them! I would like to see more citizens participating in city council meetings. We need to have a forum to discuss issues that affect us locally. I believe that there needs to be more transparency in our city government. I would like to see our city council meetings be live streamed so that everyone can participate.

We also need more consistent communication from city hall. A wider spread communications system like email or text messages could have prevented the problems when garbage day was changed.

My wife and I have two children and we have lived in Sunset since 2018. I want to make sure that Sunset continues to be a place families want to live and feel safe raising their children here. We have some major traffic changes coming in the next few years. I want work with our Police Department to ensure our children's safety going to and from school. I want to make sure our public parks are maintained and improved.

There are many changes coming to Sunset and I know that affordable housing projects are a concern of many citizens. Utah has one of the fastest growing populations in the nation. The Utah Legislators haven't yet mandated each city to have a certain percentage of affordable housing. But it has passed laws encouraging and incentivizing cities to address housing affordability. Instead of fighting over whether or not we should be building more housing projects in our city, I want to make sure that Sunset is focusing on getting infrastructure in place to deal with a larger population.

I encourage all of our citizens to have an open dialogue on issues that affect our city. I would love to have a discussion with you if you will give me 5 minutes of your time. I will be out in community knocking on doors to introduce myself to you.
