The most challenging kind of love

The most challenging kind of love

Feb 24, 2021

I'm SO IN LOVE...

with myself! 😁🤣 Haha!

On a serious note, I think the most challenging kind of love is self-love.

Where do you even begin loving yourself when external forces and social media you consume make you don't even like the natural hair you have? The type of body you have? The color of your skin? Your nose? Those things, circumstances, situationships surrounding you that make you question yourself, "Am I even beautiful?" Where and how to begin loving yourself when you even consider a stretch mark or cellulite is a flaw? Where do you start when you keep self-sabotaging and comparing yourself to others?

I learned that we begin by pointing ourselves in the direction of ACCEPTANCE. Accepting the fact that we will never be everyone's cup of tea, that there will always be better than us, prettier, sexier, smarter, all that, and that's ok because you are you, and you are unique as your fingerprint. There are billions of people, but they will never meet someone like you twice. When we accept these, we start to look at things differently. Acceptance humbles us.

The next time you look at yourself in the mirror, look closely at your eyes, your eyelashes, your nose, your lips, your eyebrows, your hair. I do this each day. I look at myself in the mirror, and I noticed that my eyes, my lips, I got them from my mom. My skin and my smile, I got from my dad. These are the people I deeply love, and I'm grateful to have; why can't I love myself the same way I love them?

Celebrate you! And I hope that we may all find the kind of love that chooses us always, IN ALL WAYS: hugs and kisses, everyone. Spread love. ❤
