For me, absolutely the best thing about photography is that you can’t take pictures over the phone.
I’m a people photographer, I love meeting new people, hearing about their lives and their experiences, and enriching my own life in the process.
And as I’ve watched so many careers become mechanised and digitized, and skilled people being stuck behind screens and phones, I think to myself, I am so lucky to be a photographer, because you can’t take photos of people over the telephone.
You have to stand in front of them and meet them, and interact with them and talk with them.
And that is one of the many reasons, I’m so happy to be a photographer!
