Below the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, near the banks of the northern part of Khortytsia, as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka Reservoir and a drop in the water level by more than 5 meters, legendary but forgotten geological objects have resurfaced. For almost 70 years, they were completely hidden under water.

Among them are the rocky area and rapids of Kaminnia Skobtsevi (Skoptsevi), which are located in the area of the lower lock channel near the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, as well as the legendary ridge of islands and rocks of Pereymy. The Skoptsevi Islands were once severely distorted during the construction of the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant's lock channel, while Pereymy has been preserved better.

These unique rocks and islands were historically the last obstacles on the turbulent path through the Dnipro rapids. Now you can see them with your own eyes without scuba diving, just like in the days before the construction of the Kakhovka Reservoir. For the Dnieper pilots, passing Pereymi meant the end of the most dangerous section — the “finish line” began here. Not far from here lay the road to the ancient Cossack village of Voznesenka, one of the important prototypes of modern Zaporizhzhia, where Taras Shevchenko once visited and the pear tree he planted still grows there.
