What If Recognition Needs Space More Than Explanation?
We often believe understanding grows through explanation.
When something doesn't make sense, we explain it again.
We add another example.
Another perspective.
Another insight.
Another layer.
Sometimes that helps.
Yet I have begun to wonder about something different.
What if some of life's deepest recognitions do not arrive because we receive more explanation?
What if recognition doesn't actually happen because of the words?
What if words simply prepare the conditions...
...and recognition arises in the silence that follows?
Perhaps this explains why some words stay with us for years while others disappear almost as soon as we hear them.
The difference may not always lie in the words themselves.
Sometimes the difference lies in whether those words leave room for something within us to respond.
