Give Yourself A Break

Give Yourself A Break

Sep 06, 2021

Some of you reading this need a Kit-Kat Bar! Just like the candy bar commercial, “Give me a break; break me off a piece of that Kit-Kat Bar!” Or better yet a nice bubble bath with some Calgon. That commercial was famous for penning the phrase, “Calgon Take Me Away!” What am I getting at?

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you. That means you have the hope and the strength to overcome circumstances you just have to remember who is in you. You are a warrior! John recorded Jesus’ words in John 10:10 reads: 10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy”, but Jesus continued to say something very important for us: “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” That truly is good news for us and also a strong warning to be aware of the enemy’s tactics. So don’t do his work for him by beating yourselves up over everything that goes wrong.

Have you ever found yourself thinking that you are not worthy of God’s love or forgiveness because of past or current actions? Do you find yourself degrading yourself and having negative thoughts about your own personal walk with the Lord? If so then shut those thoughts down and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen you in those moments. Remember God’s word says that the Holy Spirit in Romans 8:26 : 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. Also in John 14:26 Jesus told the Disciples, “26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” The Holy Spirit is given to all who have asked Jesus into their lives and repented of their sins, which means He is in us and there to comfort and guide us through life. So I encourage you today to draw on the Holy Spirit in those times when you are weak and feeling down. And lastly be good to yourselves, make time and take time to get away from the business of life. Turn off the news and other negative influences in your life and focus on Jesus Christ and His Love for You.

Blessings and Love to you ALL and thanks for reading!
