Today I celebrate a win for my sisters Azure and Valerie. Their story was picked up by WLBT3 in Jackson, Mississippi. Morgan Harris, a wonderful news reporter was tagged on one of my social media posts and she moved into action. She interviewed me, my niece, and my nephew (Valerie's children) and put together a wonderful news piece to bring this to the community's attention.
I can't thank her enough and appreciate her diving deep and pointing out important information about how Jada is attempting to throw out the fact that she was intoxicated, even though she was .18 over the legal limit.
There were three segments on the local news and they also posted on their social media platforms. I am so thrilled to see people really care and want to see justice served.
We won this battle, now on to the next because I refuse to stop! I will continue to press until Jada Kelly serves time for what she did.
Some ask if I am getting vengeance, no, it's not! That is up to God. I want JUSTICE and if you choose to drink and drive, that is YOUR CHOICE! However, if you kill someone, I must call for justice. Mississippi says aggravated DUI gets 5-25 years for each person. I am calling for the maximum. 25 years for Azure and an additional 25 years for Valerie.
If you struggle with alcohol or substance abuse, please get the help you need. You are worth it and so are the ones you hurt! This could have all been avoided if Jada just would have stayed home!
Again, thank you WLBT3 and Morgan Harris for stepping up to the plate. We, the family are grateful.
