For years I've wanted to do a podcast. However, my longest permutations on the subject revolved around the idea of discussing my fave punk genre, atompunk. It's still a solid idea. Maybe I'll do that one day. But two days ago, something struck me that is so obvious it made me mad it hadn't come to me long ago.
If you know, I write stories in a lot of universes. The World of Luminous Perils, steampunk superheroes in specific families change the world. Pray Tell, fantasy with an Indigenous protagonist. But the oldest and broadest one is the LU (Legacy Universe). Paranormals exist since 1877, and I have tons of short stories about the early days of it, and beyond. Imagine superhuman traits given to ten percent of a city (Railroad City, aa the Rail), but also to the flora and fauna. It's one part superhero comics, drama, survival and horror.
I have the name for it. I know each episode could be brief, maybe fifteen to thirty minutes long. I can use it to introduce character I haven't shown in books yet, and deepen established characters along with the lore of the Rail.
It's really sounding like a good idea. I tested out a run of it, played it back. tolerated the sound of my own voice, lol. But I know two things: this would help me tell my tales and maybe reach a broader audience, but also I know there are a ton of podcasts out there.
What do you think? Would you try listen to a podcast about Weird West era paranormals that sometimes is horrific, sometimes geeky, steampunky, or even surreal?
Let me know.
