Tips & Guide

Tour Agency: Batanes Biyaheng Local. (Click this link to direct on their facebook page)

  • When visiting Batanes as a tourist, whether alone or in a group, having a tour guide is required for exploring the province, particularly on the other islands. Although the exact reason may not be clear, it is vital for preserving the province's sites and gaining in-depth knowledge about each location through your tour guides.

  • Weather in Batanes is unpredictable. So plan the best dates accordingly. Best months to visit is from December to May.

  • There are few tour agencies that are based in Batanes. Check their Facebook pages for offers.

  • Tours normally are half day so there are no worries when it comes to resting. Our North Batan actually started around 01:30 PM. Our South Batad started at 8:00 AM and ended around 02:00 PM.

  • The Sabtang Island tour lasts half a day, with only two trips taking place daily to and from the island. Having a tour guide is highly recommended to ensure you don't miss the boat. Otherwise, you might end up staying overnight on the island, which can be a great experience if you have the time.

  • As of the moment, only Philippine Airline flies from Manila to Basco.

  • Internet in the island is limited to some places. And random connection outage.

  • Going to Itbayat, there are two options; flying throught Flightline Airways Itbayat. They accept walk-in and they are located inside the arrival airport. and by a 4 -hour Faluwa Boat ride.

  • Flying drone is prohibited in Batanes. However, you can ask for your guide to issue a permit to fly from DENR. Prices are as follows; P1,000 for North & South Batan Island and P1,500 for Sabtang Island as far as I know both permit will expire in 30 days.

Expenses

TOTAL EXPENSE - 27,000 for 4 days.

  • P19,000.00 - Flight Manila to Basco & VV (Includes 20kg Baggage allowance for Roundtrip)

  • P180.00 +++ - per meal
