"Change", what is change?
Is it an inevitable element to human evolution? Is it a compulsory right of passage?
Whatever change is to you, one thing is certain "Change can be challenging". Sometimes change comes at you hard and fast, and at other times it's a gradual shift. Many embrace the constant wheel in motion while many others restrain themselves. Fear of failure and judgement can be paralysing for some, while others enjoy the comfort of lamenting in a constant state of idle.
Not me! I enjoy the rush of deliberate and forced change. I interpret forced change as the universe redirecting me toward my intended path. I can choose to go with the flow of it or rebut it, but one thing can be almost guaranteed…. the refusal to fall into line with an insistent universal order, the more she acts with a commanding and compassionate hand.
As daunting as a metamorphosis might seem to those who repel it, the relentless aftermath of change can have some serious implications for the uninitiated. The sheer power of change can redirect our lives trajectory in unimaginable ways. Maybe it is this very fact of the fear of the unknown that paralyses people who ordinarily seem composed under pressure. Whatever the outcome, positive or negative, we all must live and die by our own sword.
I believe true empowerment comes from calculated and premeditated tempering of change. Deliberate implementation beginning in our minds and trickling into our actions can simply revolutionise our outlook on life. Committing ourselves to change builds resilience, gives direction, encourages innovation and creates a space which facilitates a positive connotation between the benefits of being adaptable and the disadvantages of remaining in consistent procrastination. Have conviction!
I do believe Albert Einstein was somewhat accurate in his observation "The measure of intelligence is the ability to be adaptable to change".
Who wants to learn the same lesson over and over again? Doomed to repeat the same mistakes without any recompense. I see it time and time again… through the lens of childhood trauma. The being trapped in a perpetual state of making the same mistakes and consistently seeing nothing wrong with the lack of personal growth. The absents of the ability to identify patterns in behaviour and moreover, the inability to cognitively realign our thought processes with our core values combined with an overwhelming lack of self-awareness seems to be a societal norm.
It truly is a profound and concerning phenomenon. Adoring my own personal growth and ability to not only create change but embrace the prospect as a beacon of honour, I see that change is necessary, change is overtly welcomed in my world and I would rather die than fall on my sword of prolonged procrastination.
