Late last year (2022), I had the opportunity to team up with Al-Kindi Coding Centre to help pitch this idea to car workshops around the country, where every workshop can sell their own service in their own e-commerce site, and be able to track genuine Shell Lubricants selling via each workshop site.

There were a few selling points and looking back at the pitch video that I hurriedly made, was not enough. In fact, there were a lot more things to pitch but in a minute is incredibly challenging. The idea was to register each Shell item onto the blockchain. I've dabbled and made a "kissing" blockchain where each kisser kissed the other and that record gets stored on the blockchain. And storing data on the blockchain involves transaction/gas fees. This way it gets permanent. But looking up/searching for this content hash is free, thus being able to reliably search for genuine products because the hash code is accurate/correct.
We tried to make a proof of concept of this and it didn't work out. Even worse, I contracted COVID and well, they had to try continue to pitching without me. We didn't win afterwards but it was good exposure for them to see how business plan competitions work.
In either case, it was an interesting approach and perhaps could be scaled down to creating genuine products into inventory system instead of e-commerce. Until next time.
