Today is the Fourth of July when the USA commemorates its Declaration of Independence. It's also the day we lost Bob Ross, painter extraordinaire who died of lymphoma in 1995. While the world mourned over his passing, his business partners took this opportunity to claim ownership of his company, Bob Ross Inc. Allegedly, they pressured the ailing Ross to sign over rights to his estate before his death, to which he countered it by writing them out of his will and testament, leaving his rights to his name and likeness to his son and half-brother. Unfortunately, the partners won the lawsuit and took control of Ross' company, leaving his surviving family with absolutely nothing.
