Plein Air Projects:

Artist guidelines /project information, Photos of some of the many artworks created at Fremantle, Westgate Mall.

Plein air projects advocates and supports street artists and graffiti writers access public spaces to legally create.

We facilitate an individual mutual agreement and understanding with all stakeholders, partners and local artists who wish to contribute and participate in this artist initiated and managed project.

This project is an ongoing collaboration between our local creative community and stakeholders.

Without mutual collaboration none of this would exist, so we respectfully thank all our local artists, supporters and stakeholders for their voluntary, independent, incredible artistic contributions and involvement!

Plein Air Projects independently manages artists bookings and associated permits for the sites. Understanding that the project is managed by artists, for artists is essential and further how this creates mutual respect and collaboration between the creative community is its it’s unique purpose and essence.

The evidence of this project’s positive outcomes on the wider Perth creative community speaks for itself, in its own unique evolving way. It has different meanings for different people, but for local artists it provides the opportunity to access walls to paint, collaborate and connect with peers, connect with the community and general public and showcase their own artistic styles or communicate ideas.

For the younger generation it’s inspiring and engaging, for the local community it’s generating dynamic conversations and teaching people to further understand and accept other art forms, as they can be seen and experienced through a different lens.

For the local government and rate payers it’s reducing the cost of “vandalism” every year, which means more money in the budget for other local services or community projects.

The positive trickle down effect, is contagious and it’s debunking the outdated narratives that previously plague “graffiti arts and culture” and promoting real social change.

This is it.

Local’s supporting locals, and artists supporting artists has got us this far, respect is well earned!

We are hoping our supporters, local businesses and community members or community organisations, that have enjoyed and engaged positively with our trial project spaces over the past 4 years - may wish to help us in our dreams to fund our future projects on a larger scale?
