Hello everyone, hope your all doing okay!
I thought it is a good as a time as any to do a ramble for this month, as a lot has been going on behind the scenes.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who reached out to me after I described my experience at Hartlepool while watching Rochdale. It was truly amazing to see the response that it got and many people checking if I was okay and safe. I am very glad to say I am doing a lot better (Not just because it is Friday!)
What happened should never happen to anybody at any event, or just in general. This is why I called it out. Everyone should be able to go places without being harassed.
As with the channel, I would totally understand if any of you are fustrated not to see much content on there. And I am as well to be fair, but I want to explain properly what's going on. My situation is a bit of a limbo at the moment. Despite being off work still while I await a work capability assesment, have been very busy in the last 6 weeks. Mainly due to being at the football with Rochdale, or it has been doing my volunteer work with the SEND Ambassadors. Of all the work that I have done, it is the work I take my most pride in, as I try to stand up for the voices like myself who need to be heard and understood. I have been taking apart in a lot of events and training sessions over the last few weeks and I have more work lined up for this month too.
There is also the situation of doors. Random, right?! When we finally had our carpets down, a couple of doors (Living Room + Bathroom) had to come down because they need to be trimmed. We had our carpets down a month ago, this still hasn't happened because the person who is supposed to be doing it keeps delaying. Its an issue due to the fact we have a walking one year old, who thinks its entertaining to mess with the bathroom taps and putting bath toys in the toilet... Kids eh?!
Finally, its also sadly due to my wellbeing. I love doing Platform 1907, honestly its fills me with pride. I am just really struggling to record anything. I keep stuttering and stimming when recording, and it just makes me feel quite rubbish and leads me to stop recording. It is something after 20 years I am still learning to manage, but I think with so much going on, its hard to find time to manage it; if that makes sense.
Long story short; I want to be doing loads of content, there's just a lot of barriers right now.
Finally, as you all will know, I am doing a walk in Aid of the National Autistic Society next Saturday. I am doing an 18 mile walk with my best friend Rhianna. I am going to do my best to sit down and talk about this more next week, building up to the walk. It happens to fall on Rochdale's away day against Braintree, so if you are not making the journey to Essex, we will be finishing at the club around 5:00, just before the Braintree Screening, I would love to see all of you there so we can celebrate in style (Watching Super Rochdale of course)
