Omar Marmoush

Omar Marmoush was forced off early in Egypt’s clash with Burkina Faso after a challenge to his knee. Egypt’s team doctor later described it as a “bruised knee ligament,” while Man City confirmed initial scans showed he would miss the Manchester derby and return to Manchester for further assessment.

The mechanism, with contact on the outside of the leg and Marmoush later clutching the inside of his knee, raised concern for an MCL sprain. Pep confirmed he’ll have a multi-week recovery, stating “'We have to wait for tests, but a few weeks, I think. Before the international break, he will be ready.'

Expected Return: He will be aiming to get back by the Brentford game on the 6th October.

Ismaila Sarr

Ismaïla Sarr pulled up holding his hamstring during the game vs. Villa but was controversially booked for simulation by the referee. The mechanism looked more like a typical “sniper shot” sprinting injury, which usually signals a more significant strain.

Reports suggest a grade 2 hamstring strain, which would mean a recovery window of around 4–6 weeks. He has since been spotted at Crystal Palace’s training ground.

After the latest update, Glasner confirmed: “At the moment, it looks like Adam Wharton, Ismaïla Sarr and Eddie Nketiah are available for Liverpool, so in two weeks.”

Expected Return: Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool on 28th September

William Saliba

William Saliba was forced off early in the first half of Arsenal’s clash with Liverpool after twisting his ankle during the warm-up at Anfield. Despite initially trying to play on, the pain flared up within minutes and he had to be replaced.

French outlet L’Équipe suggested he could be sidelined for up to a month, but Arsenal have since offered more positive news. Arteta confirmed: “William Saliba trained today, so we have a decision to make if we play him or not. It's very good news.”

Chances of Playing: 25% to play vs. Nottingham Forest

Adam Smith

Adam Smith was forced off during Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham after suffering a hamstring injury. The mechanism looked to be a change-of-direction cut, with Smith clutching the mid-to-high section of his hamstring as he went down. That pattern usually suggests a genuine strain rather than simple tightness.

After the game, manager Andoni Iraola confirmed the 34-year-old had picked up a hamstring issue and would be out for some time. He has since provided an update, stating that Smith is expected to be sidelined for a “few more weeks.”

Based on the mechanism and the latest comments, this likely points towards a grade 2 hamstring strain, which usually carries a 4–6 week recovery window.

Return to Play: 3-5 weeks from now

Liam Delap

Liam Delap was forced off during Chelsea’s clash after pulling up sharply from a sprint, immediately clutching the back of his thigh. He was later seen palpating around the biceps femoris region, a mechanism that typically suggests a genuine strain rather than general tightness.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitted after the game: "Liam's injury doesn't look good in terms of, he was full speed, hamstring, so that requires, like always, weeks."

Reports indicate Delap could be sidelined for up to 12 weeks, most consistent with a grade 3 hamstring strain.

Return to Play: 10 weeks from now

Matheus Cunha

Matheus Cunha was forced off in the first half against Burnley after appearing to feel discomfort in his hamstring during a sprinting action. The mechanism suggested more than general tightness, raising concern for a muscle strain.

United boss Rúben Amorim gave an update: “They are out for this game, I don't know how long it's going to take. We need these guys to be a competitive team. If you talk to Cunha outside, he will say he can play this game. They are pushing really hard.”

For now, Cunha remains sidelined, and further assessment will determine the exact severity of his hamstring issue.

Return to Play: Man United vs. Chelsea on September 21st

Ola Aina

Ola Aina was forced off just 10 minutes into Nigeria's 1-1 draw with South Africa after sustaining a suspected hamstring injury on international duty. The defender was able to walk off the pitch but looked frustrated as he was substituted early in the game.

Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou commented in his pre-match press conference:
"We have a clean bill of health apart from (Ola) Aina. He had an issue with the national team. He went for some scans, and we should get some information this afternoon..."

Based on the mechanism and timing, it is likely Aina will miss this week’s Premier League fixture while the club assesses his recovery.

Chances of Playing: 25%

Yoane Wissa

Yoane Wissa is set to miss Newcastle’s upcoming fixture after sustaining a knee issue during DR Congo’s international duty. The 29-year-old had to go off in the 74th minute against Senegal and was later assessed by Newcastle’s medical staff upon his return.

Eddie Hower provided an update on Wissa’s condition:

"Unfortunately, he won't make this game. So, I saw him for the first time yesterday, and he is feeling the effects of the injury he sustained just before he came off [for Congo DR]. So, we're going to have to see how he is."

Based on this, Wissa will be sidelined while the club monitors his recovery and finalises his readiness for selection in future fixtures.

Niclas Fullkrug

Niclas Füllkrug has returned from international duty with a minor calf issue, which saw him come back early from Germany’s camp. The striker trained lightly upon his return to West Ham, with the coaching staff monitoring his response to ensure there are no setbacks.

Apart from this minor concern, Füllkrug is expected to be available for selection, and no other players in the squad have reported injuries at this stage. Moyes added ‘He's trained lightly today, so we'll see how he reacts’.

Chances of Playing: 70%

Matty Cash

Matty Cash collided with a Finnish player during the World Cup qualifier, taking a knee to his thigh. He attempted to play on, but Poland manager Jan Urban decided to substitute him at halftime as a precaution.

The injury appears to be more of a bruise or contusion rather than a serious long-term issue. Cash has since been cleared and is available for selection.

“He is available for tomorrow, Matty Cash, yes.”

Jorgen Strand Larsen

Jørgen Strand Larsen has been managing Achilles pain for an extended period of time, which forced him out of last weekend’s loss to Everton.

Ståle Solbakken confirmed he left the national team to focus on recovery: “Not in conditions for the game yet because the injury was a bit more serious, and now he's trying to come back. We are hoping to have him available as soon as possible because he is an important player.”

There may still be ups and downs as he returns to full training and match fitness due to the proposed nature of an Achilles tendiniopathy.

Rayan Cherki

Rayan Cherki will be sidelined with a quadriceps tear, sustained during training ahead of the Brighton clash.

Pep Guardiola confirmed post-match that the winger is expected to be out for seven to eight weeks.

Return to Play: Late October or Early December

Lucas Perri

Lucas Perri is confirmed to be out for the next two matches after suffering a muscle strain. The club confirmed that scans have been conducted, ruling him out for both the Fulham game and the subsequent away trip to Wolves. At this stage, there is no precise timeline for his return, but the club expects to provide more clarity once they have further assessments.

Perri’s absence is a precautionary measure, ensuring the injury is managed carefully to avoid setbacks. The focus will now be on his recovery and rehabilitation before he can rejoin the squad.

Illiman Ndaiye

Iliman Ndiaye is currently an injury concern for his club. Managerial updates suggest he has “a knock,” and his availability for upcoming matches remains uncertain.

The club will monitor his condition closely over the next 24–48 hours to determine whether he can feature, with further updates expected once assessments are complete.

Chances to Play: 30%

Jacob Ramsey

Jacob Ramsey will miss the upcoming game after suffering an ankle injury from a tackle against Leeds. The midfielder’s ankle swelled up at half-time, forcing him off, and he is now expected to be sidelined until the next international break.

This represents a significant blow for his team, as Ramsey will miss several weeks of action while he recovers and undergoes ongoing monitoring to assess his return-to-play timeline.
